New Mas project dedicated to empowering women in trades

It’s time for women to step forward and explore the world of trade.
We’re excited to introduce you to our Mas Mates, a project dedicated to empowering Women in Trades.
This group of five dynamic women will be at the forefront of engaging and organizing events across the country, aimed at helping women discover the wide range of career opportunities available to them in the world of trades.
“In recent years, the number of women in Apprenticeships has gradually increased, however, women remain significantly underrepresented in non-traditional trade occupations, making up approximately 8% of current trade Apprentices,” said Ruth Hundertmark, our National Growth & Implementation Manager who is leading the project.
“Considering women are 50% of the population, this stat is alarmingly low.”
Our Mas Mates have the goal of fostering greater female participation and breaking down barriers in Queensland, Tasmania, Victoria and South Australia, supporting both State and Federal Governments that are committed to boosting the presence of women in non-traditional trades.
If there are any woman in your network who is contemplating a career change or is simply curious about what a trade career entails, reach out to our Mas Mates at girlscan@masnational.com.au.
Mas National is proud to support Women in Trades.
