22 women have completed our Remade for Trades Workshop in Launceston, an initiative proudly supported by Tradeswomen Australia.
“There’s a low percentage of women in trades. This program aims to encourage more women into these pathways to improve these numbers and fill current skill shortages,” said Hope Wooldridge, our Career Development Team Leader in Tasmania.
Last month, the team held two Programs in Tasmania, the first in Launceston and the second in Devonport. Hope talks more about these events in this video.
“A special thank you to the Launceston City Council and Harbro Engineering in Quoiba for volunteering their time and workspace to provide site tours to our participants,” said Hope.
“The chance to see the inner workings of these industries has provided invaluable inspiration to our participants.
Mas would like to acknowledge the following individuals who donated their time to provide valuable information and share their experiences with each participant:
- Sarah, Darren and Zoe from DeBryuns Transport
- Michael Plunkett from Master Builders Tasmania
- Rick Graham from Tasmanian coastal refrigeration
- Chris and Maret from Work & Training
- Daniel and Kendall from William Adams
